Pet Diagnostics in Oklahoma City, OK

A routine exam can tell us how your pet is doing on the outside, and it might give us a vague idea of what could be happening on the inside. However, an exam does not give us the full picture, and for that, we need to take the next step and switch to diagnostics. At Awesome Care Veterinary Hospital, we dedicate ourselves fully to the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions in our dog and cat patients. Whether we’re running routine diagnostics during an annual checkup or looking for the cause of a serious illness, we use only the most advanced tools and techniques to obtain our results.

  • Digital X-rays

Laboratory Diagnostics

We can run diagnostic tests using our in-house laboratory equipment for faster results. For more specialized testing, we can use an outside reference laboratory to run the necessary tests and interpret the results, which can take up to 24 hours.

Digital Pet X-Ray

Our digital X-ray capabilities enable us to produce clearer images over a shorter period of time to look for abnormalities in the bones and other internal structures. Digital X-ray utilizes very small amounts of radiation, so it is perfectly safe and non-invasive. We may recommend sedation for your pet during this procedure only if we believe it will cause them less stress and help us achieve better positioning.

With X-ray, we can check for bone fractures, fluid in the abdominal cavity, tumors, and heart problems. For a more complicated X-ray, we may send the images to a board-certified radiologist for interpretation.

Pet Ultrasound

As with digital X-ray, pet ultrasound is completely non-invasive, painless, and drug-free. Ultrasound uses soundwave echoes to create a real-time, moving image of your pet’s internal organs. With ultrasound, we can detect tumors, study the shape and texture of the organs, and diagnose and monitor pregnancies.
